Attorney Participated as a Panelist at the 81st Annual Convention of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges
MIAMI - October 16, 2007 - Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A. is pleased to announce that attorney Monique D. Hayes, who is a recipient of the Blackshear Fellowship Award, which is awarded to candidates each year by the NCBJ, participated as a bankruptcy career paths panelist for the NCBJ/NBA Liaison Committee Outreach Project in conjunction with the 81st Annual Convention of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. The ceremony commenced on October 10, 2007 at Florida A & M University College of Law, Ceremonial Moot Courtroom in Orlando, Florida.
Monique D. Hayes practices in the area of bankruptcy. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hayes served as law clerk to the Honorable Laurel Myerson Isicoff and was a staff attorney at Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., where she practiced in the area of consumer housing litigation representing low income clients in landlord/tenant disputes and consumer bankruptcy proceedings. She earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law and received her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of South Florida.

The goal of the program is to encourage greater participation in the bankruptcy system, and ensure that quality legal services are more widely available, particularly in disadvantaged communities. The panelists discussed their career paths and accomplishments, and provided suggestions for employment. After the program, the panelists and other distinguished judges and members of the bankruptcy community participated in a Q & A discussion and networking.
