Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A. Recovered Over 77 Million in the LJM2 Co-Investment Bankruptcy Case
MIAMI - The Law Firm of Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A., as co-counsel to the San Diego based law firm of Lerach, Couglin, Stoia, Geller, Rudman & Robbins LLP, on behalf of the lead plaintiff of the class action against Enron, has recovered over $77 Million in the LJM2 Co-Investment bankruptcy case.
LJM2 Co-Investment, an Enron related partnership controlled by Andrew Fastow, Enron's CFO, that played a key role in the downfall of the former corporate giant, has recently been authorized by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division to make final distributions of $52 Million to The Regents of the University of California, lead plaintiff and class action representative in the pending class action suite against Enron's lenders in the U.S. District Court in Houston. LJM2, created by Fastow, was one of a series of companies created and utilized to help Enron fraudulently improve its own credit rating by moving debts off of its books. The distribution is a result of litigation claims asserted by The Regents' Miami counsel Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A. in LJM2's Chapter 11 proceedings in Dallas. The Regents is represented by shareholders John H. Genovese and David C. Cimo and associate Harris J. Koroglu.
