Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A. Announces Two New Hires
MIAMI, FL - March 9, 2010 - Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A. is pleased to announce that Mr. Simon Ferro and Mr. Armando Lacasa have joined the firm both as Of Counsel.
Mr. Simon Ferro, a former U.S. ambassador to Panama, has more than 30 years experience in the areas of zoning, land use and governmental relations. Mr. Ferro represents residential, commercial and industrial developers at all levels of the legal and administrative process necessary for successful real estate development, including the filing of the Master Plan, Development of Regional Impact, and zoning applications. He also represents clients before the Florida Legislature, state, county and municipal government, and agencies and appears before county and city commissions, planning and zoning boards, the Dade County School Board, the Dade County Environmental Quality Control Board and other agencies. Mr. Ferro served as U.S. ambassador to Panama during the Clinton administration and maintains strong ties in Latin America and he regularly represents clients seeking business relationships and access to government procurement opportunities. He is a member of the Florida Bar. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1978, where he was inducted into Florida Blue Key and elected to Omicron Delta Kappa. Mr. Ferro earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Miami in 1975.
Mr. Armando Lacasa concentrates his practice in government relations and business transactions, with a special emphasis on international acquisition, development and finance projects. Mr. Lacasa represents banks, developers, importers, exporters and principals in projects typically requiring the regulatory approval of foreign governments and agencies. He also represents foreign country agencies in the United States such as the Venezuelan Finance Ministry, the Venezuelan Central Bank, and the Venezuelan Industrial Bank. He is a member of the Florida Bar. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas de Villanova in Cuba in 1959. He also attended Georgetown University Foreign Service School and the University of Florida in 1977.
