Alexandra Blye practices in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation, restructuring and insolvency, creditors' rights, assignments for the benefit of creditors, commercial leasing, corporate transactions and government law. Ms. Blye has represented Debtors, Creditor Committees and Trustees in bankruptcy reorganization and liquidation proceedings, as well as represented secured creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy proceedings. Additionally, she has represented Assignees and Assignors in state court Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors proceedings under Chapter 726 of the Florida Statutes, and litigated fraudulent transfers and preferential transfers under both state law and federal bankruptcy law. Ms. Blye's practice also focuses on complex commercial disputes, complex business transactions, and the procurement and protests of government bids. Prior to joining the firm, she was a law clerk at the Office of the United States Attorney's for the Northern District of Florida and served as an assistant coordinator of Project Safe Childhood for the U.S. Department of Justice.
Ms. Blye is an active member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, the American Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association and Palm Beach County Bar Association. She is also involved with the Anti-Defamation League as a Vice Chair of the organizations Glass Leadership Institute, Boca Raton, Florida chapter, and serves as member of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach's Emerging Leadership Project.
Ms. Blye received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, she was a member of the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot Court Team, the Entertainment and Sports Law Society and the John Marshall Bar Association. Ms. Blye also was a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy. In addition, she studied international law through the University Of Miami School Of Law Mediterranean Experience Summer Program in Greece, Italy and Spain. Ms. Blye earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of Florida.
