Jose Vicente Melo Lopez

Mr. Jose Vicente Melo Lopez concentrates his legal practice in civil, insurance, corporate and commercial law. He acts as general counsel and director of Fondo de Valores Inmobiliarios. Mr. Melo was founding and administrative partner at Despacho de Abogados Miembros Ruden McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, S.C, Caracas office.  

Mr. Melo has been a Professor of Law in Obligations, Contracts and Secured Transactions and Roman Law at the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello since 1986. He served as Head of the Department of Obligations Law from 1997-2001 and 2003-2006 and is a member of the Capital Markets Committee of the Venezuelan and American Chamber of Commerce (VenAmCham).  

Mr. Melo is a member of the Venezuela Bar. He received his Juris Doctor from the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Venezuela in 1977. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
