Amir A. Isaiah practices in the areas of receivership, fiduciary services, and litigation consulting. He routinely acts as a Receiver for both federal and state courts to marshal, manage, operate, preserve, safeguard, restructure, and/or liquidate various types of businesses, distressed real estate, and other troubled assets. Prior to joining the firm, Isaiah served as the firm's director of receivership and fiduciary services at Kaufman, Rossin, & Co.
Isaiah has extensive experience participating in federal and state government investigations by the CFTC, FBI, FDIC, FTC, IRS, NFA, SEC, U.S. Dept. of Justice, U.S. Attorney, Attorney General of Florida & the Florida Division of Financial Services. He has provided legal services, forensic accounting, fraud investigation, mediation, and consulting services for law firms, private companies, and government agencies. He assisted in operation, liquidation, and investigation of domestic and international businesses. Isaiah also has experience conducting operational reviews, due diligence, business consulting, business turnarounds, real estate development, taxation, financial advisory in bankruptcy, and insolvency related matters. In addition, he consults on business interruption insurance claims, tax matters, estate planning, and real estate transactions.
Isaiah is a Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. He serves on the Executive Counsel and is co-chair of the Membership Committee of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar. He is the founding member of the Florida Fiduciary Forum, co-chair of the Federal Courts Committee and Budget Committee of the Dade County Bar Association, and a member American Bar Association. Isaiah is also certified by the Florida Bar to provide Continuing Legal Education to attorneys. He serves as an adjunct Professor of Law at Florida International University College of Law, where he presently teaches the bankruptcy course and is the only law professor who has taught a law course exclusively on receiverships. He is also a frequent guest speaker, panelist and moderator on the subject of receiverships, the role of fiduciaries, and converging issue between bankruptcy and receiverships.
Isaiah is a member of The Florida Bar and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Florida. He received a dual master of laws (LL.M.) degrees in real estate development and taxation, with a certification in International Taxation, from the University of Miami School of Law. Isaiah earned his juris doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and his bachelor of arts from Berklee College of Music.
