Michael A. Friedman focuses on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and corporate disputes. His litigation experience includes contract disputes, business torts, corporate dissolutions, landlord-tenant disputes, and litigation involving condominium and homeowners associations.

Michael has extensive experience representing parties in complex litigation stemming from bankruptcy and other insolvency proceedings. He represented the receiver of the Creative Capital investment scheme in lawsuits against major financial institutions, helping recover millions of dollars for victims of that scheme. Michael represented the debtor in In re Rosenberg, helping secure a $6.12 million jury award against one of the nation's largest financial institutions, and prevailing on issues of first impression in the Eleventh Circuit in the areas of involuntary bankruptcy and bankruptcy procedure. He is part of the team representing the Chapter 7 Trustee in In re Mongelluzzi, where the Trustee has prosecuted millions of dollars in avoidance claims in litigation stemming from a massive check kiting scheme. Michael assisted in representing the Chapter 11 Trustee of Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler, P.A., one of the largest Ponzi schemes in history, which resulted in a 100% distribution to victim-creditors of the scheme.

Michael has participated in lectures on involuntary bankruptcy litigation and co-authored articles on that issue published in the ABI Journal and the Review of Banking & Financial Services. He has been selected as a "Rising Star" by Florida Super Lawyers and an "Up and Comer" by Florida Trend. He is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Michael is a member of The Florida Bar. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and Third Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Middle District of Florida.

Michael served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Paul G. Hyman, Jr. in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. He received his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida. He was a member of the executive board of the moot court team and received awards for Best Advocate and Best Brief in regional competitions. Michael was also a member of the Florida Law Review, and selected for membership in the Order of the Coif. He earned his bachelor of fine arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Florida.
